Request for Reconsideration Regarding Image Deletion and Support for Name Recognition
[edit]I hope you're doing well. I understand that you’ve marked the image "39e264b4-8f79-4baa-9366-8d0672c8f7d5.jpeg" for deletion, and I would like to kindly request reconsideration. The image is an important part of my professional record, captured during my research presentation and award recognition at a conference in Tanta University. It visually documents a significant moment of academic achievement and contribution, and I believe it is directly relevant to the article regarding my professional background. Additionally, I would like to ensure that my name and contributions are clearly represented and supported in the article. This image plays a crucial role in providing visual evidence of my participation in scholarly events, which supports the accuracy and completeness of my biography on Wikipedia. I believe that the image complies with Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, as it is tied directly to the article’s content and enhances the understanding of my academic involvement. I am happy to provide further details or make adjustments to ensure the image and article meet Wikipedia's standards. I truly appreciate your time and consideration and hope we can come to a resolution that allows the image to remain, supporting both the visual representation and recognition of my work. Best regards, DR. Mahmoud Adel DR. Mahmoud Adel (talk) 13:12, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi DR. Mahmoud Adel, while fair use media are allowed on enwiki, they unfortunately are not allowed on Commons. On the file page you added your name as author and 'own' as source which means that you are the photographer what is obviously not the case. 'Author' should keep the name of the photographer (or even "{{unknown|author}}") and 'source' means where you the photograph got from. Here are very strict licensing rules, please have a look at COM:L. Regards, Achim55 (talk) 14:12, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have recently been informed that both my Wikipedia page and an uploaded image are under the fast deletion process. I am concerned about this situation and would deeply appreciate your guidance on what necessary edits or adjustments I should make to prevent my page or image from being deleted.
- The information provided on my page is accurate, and the image was uploaded in good faith to enhance the article’s content and provide visual context. I fully understand the importance of adhering to Wikipedia’s guidelines, and I am more than willing to make any required changes to ensure that both the content and the image meet these standards.
- If there are specific concerns about my page or image, such as licensing issues, relevance, or quality, I would be grateful for your feedback so I can address them promptly and avoid any further issues.
- Thank you very much for your time, understanding, and assistance in resolving this matter DR. Mahmoud Adel (talk) 14:56, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Mahmoud, I moved the content of your user page to en:User:DR. Mahmoud Adel/sandbox where you might go on working on it. Here on Commons are no article pages as this is only a media repository. Commons' user pages should contain only a few sentences of basic info and language skills as this is a multilingual project. Regards, Achim55 (talk) 16:01, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
Delete John Linnell Picture
[edit]Hi @Achim55! Could you please delete the John Linnell.png picture I uploaded? I don't know if it was copyrighted or not. Floating Orb (talk) 17:22, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
Done. Floating Orb, maybe you could load it up to enwiki as there are fair-use media allowed. Here they aren't, unfortunately. --Achim55 (talk) 18:05, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]@Achim55Hello! Why did you delete the photos I uploaded. Yes, that might be true on the one hand? Thanks. (V12U253 (talk) 13:30, 22 March 2025 (UTC))
- V12U253, "own work" means that you took the photos yourself. If you didn't you must provide a source where you got it from. Please do not steal images from the web that don't have a free license. --Achim55 (talk) 13:33, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, thank you. (V12U253 (talk) 13:36, 22 March 2025 (UTC))
